Get In Touch-Heart of the Farm
To help dairy producers continue to look forward to improving operations and profitability, the Grow Wisconsin Dairy Team is creating a DairyFarm Management Team program for Wisconsin dairy farmers. The team approach will help dairy farmers fortify their management tools for increasing profits. This is a dairy producer program and a farm management resource. For more information go to Grow Wisconsin Dairy.
Dairy Farm Management Teams
A team of professionals that meet monthly, quarterly, or as often as the farm prefers. As goals, actions and responsibilities are decided, the local dairy agent works to keep the process progressing and helps the farm family to reach their goals. Contact our office for more information.
Milk Money Teams
A team approach to solving problems is usually highly efective. Producers are encouraged to pick a team of professionals who bring expertise to the table. This may include veterinarians, nutritionists, bankers, milk plant field representatives, etc. Contact our office for more information.
Somatic Cell Count Trouble-Shooting
Working with producers to reduce cell counts has a large impact on milk income by increasing premiums and yield. Every farm may need a different solution. Contact our office for more information.
Milking Protocols
Bilingual milking procedure charts on the farm help producers standardize the milking process and improve udder preparation and milk let down. This leads to an increase in overall parlor through-put and increased efficiency. Contact our office for more information.
Dairy Partner / El Compañero
The Dairy Partner / El Compañero is a bimonthly newsletter geared towards dairy farm employees. The newsletter articles are written by UW-Extension agriculture agents and state specialists and are available in both English and Spanish. The purpose of this newsletter is to provide information directly to farm employees to help them improve their dairy cattle knowledge, maintain farm safety, and improve their way of life.
