A new group is extending an invitation to the community for their event this July.
The group called Southeast Asian Seniors has been hard at work this summer cultivating their outdoor garden at the Manitowoc Senior Center.
They are inviting the community to a Garden and Recipe share on July 28th from noon until 1:00.
It will feature lemongrass tea from the harvest in their garden.
Krystina Yang is a Bilingual Nutrition Educator who has been facilitating the program.
She explained while on the WCUB Breakfast Club “Our recipes that we’re hoping to have people bring are ones that aren’t very culturally relevant to us so that we can adapt or adopt them”.
Yang adds that it would be helpful to bring a picture along with the instructions and if attendees would like, to explain how to make the dish.
They hope to hold the festivities in the garden on the east side of the building at 3330 Custer St.
